I have a very customized yahoo store, and its getting to the point where I'm paying a lot for hosting, to have complicated features that don't work well.
Has anyone ever moved from a yahoo store? If so what platform? |

I just completed moving 4 stores from Yahoo to Xcart. I hired the folks at Xcart to customize the software to match the URL's created by Yahoo and the category structure. So far it has worked great! No Google problems, no downtime. I have the stores hosted on a dedicated server with Softlayer and it is saving me 1000's a month vs Yahoo.

Is there a revenue share or bandwidth charge? We recently tried volusion but it is not good for search engines and we discovered that there is a "bandwidth" charge even though the store we tested has very low traffic. We like yahoo, but we have concerns about their future and we would like to skip the revenue share.
Thanks |

No, Xcart is a cart you purchase and host on your own server. I use softlayer for hosting but there are a million of them out there. I think Xcart also has hosting as an option as well.
The revenue share is the main reason we switched from Yahoo. Our Yahoo bill was several thousand a month and for what they give you was hard to justify. The customization of Xcart cost us a couple months of Yahoo charges and a few grey hairs concerned about the effects on our google rank but in the end has proven to be a wise choice. |

| I'm on Yahoo too for a few years now, and am looking to cut costs on the revenue share, yet have great functionality as well. I sell apparel (kids formal wear) so I will need the options to be easy to use and good for SEO. Anyone have any suggestions? |
